Veet gives Bush a suitable send-off

This little gem has been given ad of the day across a number of marketing sites today, and Brand Strategy posted it on their blog too.

Well-deserved attention for sure. Ad of the day? Ad of the year so far I reckon:

  1. first and last visit to veet, I will not allow this in my house when I found out your liberal Obama favoritism.

  2. Fair point, but I rather feel that Veet’s ad agency, Euro RSCG Australia, was capitalising on the current polital climate to convey their client’s brand – rather than a statement of political allegiance from Veet themselves.

That said, this does raise an interesting point: is there is a danger in such campaigns alienating a certain sub-section of their potential audience by seeming to align themselves with a particular political movement or figure? Even if it is just for a bit of a giggle? Though, in this case, it was more about the departure of the incumbent than outright support for the new President.

    Good point raised though, thanks.
